First Black Supermodel Dies

I wanted to give a visual tribute to the first american black supermodel, Naomi Sims. She passed away on August 1st at the age of 61 from cancer, but it is thanks to her that such models had an easier time of having such stellar careers like Iman,Tara Banks, Naomi Campbell and all the others who followed her. She began her career in the mid 60s and she blazed the trail for those to follow. She was the first black model to appear on the cover of Ladies’ Home Journal and in 1969 Sims appeared on the cover of Life magazine.

Thanks to such publications her beauty will live forever. Naomi Sims will remain one of the most beautiful women of our time.
